Another win for reigning Hoosier Tire Point champ Mike Himes of Somerville, PA in the Mustang Salliz Micro Sprints. Himes passed pole sitter Bob Robertson on lap three and led every circuit until the checkered flag. Steve Dunmire traveled from the seventh spot to end the race third. Todd Reusser of Minerva started inside second row in the Scott and Jomarie Gagne owned machine losing a spot only to Dunmire. 2003 Deerfield Raceway point champ, Tim Robertson, revisited the new Deerfield Raceway for a top five finish in this star studded event. Heats went to Himes and Reusser.

In the Wally Armour Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep Mod Lite division third place starter Rod Jones made his way to victory lane at Deerfield Raceway. Former 2008 Deerfield Raceway feature winner Anthony Gillespie lost the lead to Jones on the second circuit and ended the race runner up. Kenny Meadows who won the first heat on this night in which rain had threatened the event finished third. Mark Marcucci and Doug Stanley completed the top five. Five cars were towed off and plenty of sheet metal bent on a 10 car pile up on the front stretch on lap one, then later only to see two more cautions the remainder of the event. Other heats went to Canter and Stanley.

Todd Rhoads of Leetonia reign continues as he wins his sixth feature event of a short seven week season in the Stitch n Tyme Sportsman class. Rhoads took the lead from Jeff Eboch on the third lap in a race that was halted eight times due to cautions. Eboch ended the race third after pole sitter Kyle Lawrence fell to fourth by lap three only to fight his way back to second on lap 15. Ed Bixler fell prey to engine difficulties which forced him to retire to the pits forfeiting his runner up spot to Lawrence and hanging on to a fourth place finish. Completing the top five was Steve Mix Jr. for a great run. Heats went to Steve Mix Sr., Rhoads and Bixler

In the Mel’s Towing Compacts Chuck Magrell puts another knotch in his belt by winning the big event in this fan favorite division. This is Magrell’s fourth feature win in 2008. Former Hoosier Tire Point champ Rich Hartzell started on the pole and swapped the lead with outside pole sitter Kyle Cagle for 11 laps. On lap 12 Magrell took the lead from Hartzell after starting in the eighth spot. Hartzell took second and Cagle grabbed third. Previous ’08 feature winner Shaun Loy ended the race fourth and Chris Cagle completed the top five for a great finish. Heats went to Magrell and Hartzell.

First time feature winner Lexie Werschey took home the gold in the Wickes Lumber Kids Karts division. Werschey had led the feature on several nights but had never been able to put the win together. This night Werschey was in a class of her own. Chelsea Magrell crossed the finish line second but was unable to pass tech. Jeff Haefke former Deerfield Raceway feature winner claimed the second spot. Rookie Gabby Borawiec had another great run ending the race third. Cameron Nastasi claimed the fourth slot while Rookie Erin Fisher rounded out the top five. Werschey also won the heat.
