2012 SPORTSMAN Classic DIVISION RULES

Sportsman Rules –

The following rules are set as a guide only and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death

to participants or others.   Track officials have the final decision.   If there are any concerns not

covered in these rules, consider any alterations to be illegal unless told otherwise by the Deerfield

Raceway Tech Inspector.

ALL CARS MUST HAVE AN ON/OFF SAFETY SWITCH MOUNTED ON THE RIGHT REAR

TRUNK OR REAR UPPER BODY PANEL.  MUFFLERS MANDATORY, HOOSIERS ONLY.

All cars must have a weight sticker BEFORE entering the race track.

Follow TUSA Rules with these exceptions-

1.  No engine newer than 2007 / 750 and smaller. Engine stamp must be accessible to tech throughout the season.  

2.  Classic Body Styles only.  No more than 10 degree angle on roof.  No more than 5 degree angle on hood.

3. Must have four working brakes, drums OK.

4. 07 and older 750 Suzuki and smaller engine allowed, no overbore, gasoline only, weight 1240.

 5. No other fuel injected engine allowed without review by tech officials prior to installation in

          the car.

6.  Harley Davidson 1200cc engine allowed weight 1240.

7.Head must match Block.(Ex.750 head/ 750 block)

8.Must have stock OEM air cleaner.

9.No Quick Change rear ends.

10.Tire 40 Durometer on Max 8" wheel.

11. CLAIM - This will continue to be a Claim Division. A car can only be claimed after winning three feature events. Everything goes to Claimer except race seat if proper claim is consummated. The Claim for the Classic Division is $4000 and Claimer's race car, which must finish on the lead lap the night of the Claim. Only an owner of a Classic car may claim a Classic car. Claim nust be placed with Deerfield's Race Director thirty minutes prior to feature event. Car being claimed must win the feature event the day of said Claim to consummate Claim. If any owner refuses to sell their Classic car upon proper claim,car refusing to sell will be suspended from racing in Deerfield Raceway's Classic Division for the remainder of the season.
